Yamuna Flooding has caused Havoc already however in a concerning development, the water level of the Yamuna River in Delhi has risen to a record-breaking 207.71 meters, surpassing the previous high recorded in 1978. Meanwhile, officials have reported that approximately 3 lakh cusecs of water have been discharged from the Agra side of the Gokul barrage. Furthermore, authorities have warned that the water level in Agra’s urban areas may rise further, affecting around 47 settlements located in the submergence zone.
Boats have been deployed to assist people in crossing the Yamuna by tethering ropes to trees on either side of the river as local residents grapple with rising waters. The situation is still fluid, and continuous monitoring and preventive measures are being implemented to mitigate any potential flooding risks.
