Snake and Snake Venom Smuggling Racket

After a search on a banquet facility in Noida Sector 51 last November, the snake venom case investigation got underway. Five people were taken into custody for their roles in a snake smuggling operation as a result of the raid, four of whom were snake charmers. Throughout the operation, nine snakes—including poisonous cobras—were rescued.

Further implicating individuals involved in the smuggling operation was the confirmation provided by forensic investigation that samples taken from the banquet hall contained venom from cobra and krait species.
