Smriti Mandhana, the vice-captain of the Indian women’s cricket team and skipper of the RCB women’s team, discussed her viewpoints at the Leaders Meet India event held in Bengaluru by the RCB Innovation Lab. Mandhana thinks the WPL would advance significantly with a multi-city model. Gesturing her delight, she said it would be an amazing experience to play in famous stadiums like Chinnaswamy, where ‘RCB RCB’ cries echo. According to Mandhana, this format offers women’s cricket the chance to reach previously untapped audiences and geographical areas.
She pledged to make time for the team a priority and underlined the value of the supportive atmosphere that RCB has established. As the captain, she understands how important it is to create a positive environment for the best possible team performance.
Grassroots Development
Regarding women’s cricket’s future, Smriti recommended emphasizing grassroots development. She promotes laying a solid basis for women’s cricket because she understands that it needs more funding and focus at the foundational level.
