The daughter of Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Saima Wazed is an expert in psychological health who will take over as head of the World Health Organization’s South East Asia Region (SEAR) (WHO). Following a conference in New Delhi, the ten member states of the region nominated Wazed to be the forthcoming regional director for SEAR. This statement was made by the WHO. She is going to succeed Poonam Khetrapal Singh on February 1, 2024, when she takes office.
