Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne said on Instagram and Twitter that Kanye West had sampled his live performance of “War Pigs” from 1983 at the US Festival without getting permission. This was a daring move. According to Osbourne, West asked to have a vocal-free portion of the performance used, but Osbourne rejected his request because West was deemed an antisemite.

Ozzy Osbourne’s Firm Position

Ozzy Osbourne expressed unequivocally that he declined permission due to West’s purported antisemitic beliefs, which Osbourne feels have caused a great deal of harm. The 75-year-old rock star declared that he wanted no affiliation with Kanye West, expressing his extreme displeasure.

Ozzy’s manager and wife, Sharon , offered more information on the circumstances. She said that they get a lot of requests for songs like “War Pigs,” but they turned down West’s request right away. Respect for other artists and legal issues are equally important, according to Sharon.

Kanye West may suffer legal ramifications if he releases a new song that includes the unlawful sample without first acquiring permission. Regarding the legal issue, the Osbournes have communicated with West’s team, emphasizing the need of honoring other artists’ choices and intellectual property.

Kanye West has a history of making antisemitic remarks. West suffered consequences, losing endorsements and fashion agreements even after apologizing in December. A line in his upcoming album, Vultures, that casts doubt on his position on antisemitism, adds fuel to the fire.
