The Indian government launched “Operation Ajay,” a mission to bring home its people from Israel and Palestine, in reaction to increasing conflicts in the Middle East. Following a weekend of heinous attacks on Israeli cities by Hamas militants, the operation aims to assure the safety and return of Indian citizens.

Operation Ajay’s Mission Specifics

In Operation Ajay, charter flights have been employed to fly about 230 Indian citizens back to India from Israel. The first chartered flight is scheduled to leave Tel Aviv and arrive back in India early the next morning. This mission was established in response to a statement made by the Indian External Affairs Minister, who reaffirmed India’s commitment to supporting its residents living in the unrest-stricken area.

Sizeable Indian Community in Israel

Around 18,000 Indian people presently live in Israel, where India has a sizable expat presence. The majority of these people work as caregivers, and the neighbourhood also has roughly 1,000 students, a few IT experts, and diamond traders. Indian Navy ships may be sent if necessary to ensure the safe return of its residents, according to the Indian Embassy in Israel, which has been vigorously coordinating efforts to do so.

Israel’s Assistance

The Indian community in Israel is greatly valued according to Kobbi Shoshani, the Israeli consul general to Midwest India, who emphasized their vital responsibilities as caregivers and their major economic contributions. The Israeli government has promised to work closely with the Tel Aviv-based Indian Embassy.

Palestinian challenges

At least 17 Indians, including relief workers and business visitors, are stranded in Palestine. A separate emergency number has been established by the Indian Embassy in Ramallah to offer support and assistance to Indians living in Palestine.

Dedicated to Citizen Safety

“Operation Ajay” displays the Indian government’s dedication to the security and welfare of its inhabitants by providing support to those in need amid unrest in the region. In these trying circumstances, the mission attempts to provide Indian citizens with relief and enable their return to their homeland.
