Vaibhav Pandya, the stepbrother of famous cricketer Hardik Pandya, was recently arrested by the Mumbai police and made news for allegedly scamming both Hardik and his brother Krunal of around Rs 4.25 crore. The case comprises a complicated network of commercial operations gone wrong and has shocked the cricket community.
Business Ventures Go South
The Pandya brothers and Vaibhav started a polymer business in 2021, with Vaibhav in charge of managing day-to-day operations. According to the terms of the deal, Vaibhav would contribute 20% and the Pandya brothers would each dedicate 40% of the capital.
Nevertheless, Vaibhav Pandya is accused of violating the partnership agreement by diverting income to the accounts of a different company without Hardik and Krunal’s knowledge or approval. The cricketers suffered an incredible loss of Rs 4.3 crore as a result of this mishandling.
Vaibhav Pandya’s Legal Repercussions
Vaibhav was arrested after a report was made to the Mumbai Police’s Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) about the fraudulent actions. Under several provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), he has been accused of a wide range of offenses, including forgery, criminal organization, fraud,criminal breach of trust, and criminal intimidation.
Vaibhav is said to have used threats when Hardik or Krunal questioned him about his behavior. This further complicated matters by adding a frightening aspect to an already problematic situation. Following his arrest, a flurry of legal actions were taken, and he was remanded to five days in police custody. In order to prosecute all of the offenders, officials are continuing the investigation and looking further into the minute aspects of the case.
