Remembering Kobe Bryant: Illuminating Tribute on Mamba Day

Tonight, the Santa Monica Pier Ferris Wheel is going to be illuminated in memory of the late Kobe Bryant.

Mamba Day

The date of 8/24, sometimes referred to by supporters as Black Mamba Day as well as just Mamba Day, was selected because it matched Bryant’s figures and was the day following his birthday. On Wednesday, Bryant would’ve been 45.

Nike also unveiled the Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Halo” sneaker in memory of the occasion. The business claimed that it collaborated with Bryant’s wife, Vanessa Bryant, and she came up with the sneaker’s style.

According to an announcement from Pacific Park in Santa Monica, visitors can watch the Ferris wheel illumination from sunset until 11:35 p.m.

Several active NBA players posted on social media to honor Kobe Bryant on his 45th birthday.LeBron James retrieved an almost 20-year-old photo of him and Kobe Bryant for the day. LeBron James shared another Instagram homage to the Lakers icon in 2021, just like he did two years prior.

Lebron gave a lengthy speech at the United Centre in Chicago in January 2020, outlining how Bryant’s impact will endure. He talked about the significance of the number 24, saying that he and other NBA players will never forget the legend.

Trevor Ariza’s birthday greeting stood out among the others since he tweeted a meme in appreciation of the Black Mamba’s previous playing style.

The tributes paid to the late legend on NBA pages are numerous, but none come close to the ones Kobe Bryant’s family has prepared for the occasion. To honor the Lakers icon, Vanessa and Natalia, the couple’s first shared photos on their profiles on Instagram.

Vanessa shared a collection of images in honor of her deceased husband. In contrast, Natalia shared a photo of her being carried by her dad when she was a young child. She kept the message short and sweet with a simple birthday wish
