Prominent Figures Return to Boost India’s Asia Cup Squad for ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 Preparation

The presence of prominent figures returning for the Asia Cup in 2023 gave India an added boost. The competition, which starts on August 30, will serve as the official preparatory venue for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

India will participate in the six-nation championship that our neighbors Pakistan and Sri Lanka will co-host. One of their final international contests preceding the Cricket World Cup is this.

Here’s the list of players present in the Asia Cup squad of 2023: Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Siraj, KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma (captain), Axar Patel, Virat Kohli, Mohammed Shami, Ishan Kishan, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Tilak Varma, Kuldeep Yadav, Prasidh Krishna, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya (vice-captain), and Shubman Gill.

KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, and Jasprit Bumrah’s comeback to the ODI lineup has also strengthened the Rohit Sharma-led team. The squad is going to get the chance to practice the lineups that they will probably use in the World Cup.

It has been confirmed that Iyer and Rahul are returning for the Asia Cup team, whereas Bumrah previously made his return in the T20I match against Ireland. Due to their individual incidents of injury, the pair missed out on playing cricket
The pair had lately participated in match training simulations at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), where they were recovering from successful surgery.

Iyer has currently attained 100% health and will join the race without a doubt. Rahul of Karnataka, on the other hand, has a strain unconnected to his prior injury and will be progressively reintroduced to the India lineup.

Rahul and Iyer, India’s usual ODI mainstays, are back, but Tilak Varma, a budding member, and Suryakumar Yadav, a T20I performer, have also been included in the squad.

India has also recently had difficulty settling on a middle-order lineup, with its number four spot especially showing a lack of precision. They used three distinct hitters at the crease in the three rounds of the freshly finished ODI series in opposition to the West Indies.

India captain Rohit Sharma said the batting unit needed to perform as a collective, but he also said the next matches were a fantastic chance for the batsmen to advocate for the international competition.
