A Legacy of Artistry

Arun Yogiraj’s journey as a sculptor is not conventional, despite his familial ties to the art. Despite excelling in his studies and pursuing an MBA from Mysuru University in 2008, Yogiraj felt a calling to fulfill his grandfather’s prophecy. This prompted him to leave his corporate job and embrace sculpting as his full-time vocation since 2008.

A Heritage of Artistic Excellence

His family’s artistic legacy traces back to his grandfather, Basavana Shilpi, an esteemed Mysuru palace artist. Arun’s grandfather, renowned for his contributions to iconic structures such as the Gayatri Temple and the Bhuvaneshwari Temple, left an indelible mark on Mysuru’s artistic heritage. Arun’s father, Yogiraj Shilpi, also played a significant role in preserving and enriching this heritage.

Noteworthy Creations

Arun Yogiraj’s artistic prowess extends beyond the Ramlalla murti. His portfolio boasts diverse creations, including the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at India Gate and the sculpture of Adi Shankaracharya at Shri Kedarnath Dham in Uttarakhand. Additionally, his renowned works include the 14.5-feet white marble stone sculpture of Maharaja Jaya Chamarajendra Wodeyar in Mysore and the life-size white marble sculpture of Swami Ramakrishna Paramahamsa.
