Mira Road Witnesses An Attack on Saffron Flags

A crowd attacked cars with saffron banners bearing the message “Jai Shri Ram” on Sunday night. The police insisted that it was a fight between two parties rather than a communal issue, even though footage of the incident was making the rounds.

According to the authorities, at least one person suffered critical injuries during the altercation, but their status is currently stable. Numerous additional people sustained minor wounds. Law enforcement has brought charges against a number of people for rioting, inciting hatred based on religion, and attempted murder.

The conflict started on January 21 at approximately 11 p.m., according to DCP Jayant Bajbale, when individuals of the Hindu community began to hoist slogans from their cars. Members of the other religious community got into a dispute.  In order to stop the situation from getting worse, police intervened quickly and led to the arrest of certain people.

Videos of unidentified people hitting people inside automobiles, throwing stones at them, and causing vandalism are making the rounds on the internet. In one video, a crowd attacks a car while the few responding police officers try to keep things under control.

Authorities are keeping a tight eye on the situation and thoroughly investigating the altercation along Mira Road .
