Russian

In the rugged area of northeastern Afghanistan, an aircraft thought to be a Russian chartered ambulance appears to have crashed. After Afghani police reported a plane crash, Russian aviation officials said that a 1978 French-built Dassault Falcon 10 jet had vanished from their radar above Afghanistan on Saturday night. This is how the situation came to pass.

Origin and Destination: Ambulance Charter travelling through Uzbekistan from India to Moscow

The plane in question was a charter ambulance headed for Moscow via Uzbekistan after leaving India. The plane, which was headed out from Thailand and was carrying six passengers, refuelled in India. Investigations are still ongoing to determine the exact circumstances behind the crash and the actions that preceded it.

Identity Error: Russian-Registered Aircraft Linked with India

The aircraft’s nationality was initially unclear due to first reports, leading Afghan authorities to believe it was Russian. The Indian Civil Aviation Ministry, however, refuted previous claims that the aircraft was associated with India by stating that it was registered in Morocco. The ministry made it clear that no Indian airline owned the air ambulance.

Gaya Airport Refuelling Stop

The air ambulance had been travelling from Thailand to Moscow when it stopped at Gaya airport in India for refuelling, according to official accounts. It is unknown what caused the disaster, including whether there were any distress signals or problems with communication.

Authorities are currently looking into the disaster as the aviation community struggles to make sense of the incident’s developing aspects. The Indian ministry of civil aviation has asked for patience, saying that additional details are needed before a complete picture of the conditions behind the accident of the air ambulance registered in Morocco in northeastern Afghanistan can be drawn.
