In the past, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger two action heroes in Hollywood, were antagonistic with one another. It got so out of hand that they attempted to run each other over!

Where did their conflict begin? The Golden Globes of 1977, where they were seated at the same table. Schwarzenegger took home the New Star award, but Sylvester Stallone lost in several categories. When “Rocky” ultimately took home the Best Motion Picture – Drama Oscar, Stallone lost his cool and flung a bowl of flowers at Schwarzenegger.

Fast Food Diplomacy

However, things drastically changed in the late 1990s. These unusual allies turned into their old rivals. You may wonder what triggered this 180-degree turn. The answer is a restaurant chain and hamburgers.

 

The two stars went to other openings together because they were both investors in the Planet Hollywood restaurant business. Driven to split burgers and fries, they buried the hatchet and came to terms. Their rivalry became one of the most renowned bromances in Hollywood because of this special circumstance.They found themselves sharing not only business interests but also fries and burgers when they were forced to travel together for several restaurant openings. Something unexpected occurred as they were eating. Their mutual fast-food diplomacy caused their relationship to soften.

The once-aggressive rivals becoming close friends. Along with Sylvester Stallone, Schwarzenegger worked on a number of films together, including the “Expendables” trilogy and the action-packed film “Escape Plan” from 2013. Stallone was well-regarded by Schwarzenegger as a “great human being,” and their friendship was obviously everlasting.
