Prominent chip designer and former head of Intel India’s country branch, Avtar. Saini, met with a deadly accident in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. While Saini was riding his bike on Palm Beach Road, a cab struck him.

Driver’s Statement: The Toll of Fatigue

The taxi driver who caused the collision admitted to the authorities that he fell drowsy behind the wheel and lost control of the vehicle. This acknowledgement clarifies the tragic events that caused the deadly crash.

With the front wheels of the cab jammed beneath Saini’s bicycle, the driver, who was later identified as Khade, tried to escape the scene. Saini was sent to the hospital right away, but when they got there, they pronounced him dead. Khade revealed during questioning that he had driven all night and had fallen asleep, which is what caused him to lose control and cause the terrible crash, according to the police report.

The Legacy of Avtar Saini: Contributions to Intel’s Success

At the age of 68, Avtar Saini gained recognition for his noteworthy advancements  in the field of chip design.He was a key player in the development of the Pentium  chip and worked on the 386 and Intel 486 microprocessors.

The president of Intel India, Okul V. Subramaniam, offered condolences and said  that Saini was crucial to the establishment of Intel’s research and development  center in India.

Concerns about Road Safety in Mumbai: Another  Incident Raises Alarms

The collision involving Avtar Saini highlights the difficulties experienced by bikers  and pedestrians on Mumbai’s roads, less than a year after the tragic passing of   runner Rajalakshmi Vijay near Worli Sea Face. The event is a sobering reminder of how urgently better safety precautions are  required.

During Avtar Saini’s 22 years with Intel, he worked on the Itanium Processor, which was a major breakthrough for 64-bit Intel microprocessors. Along with his family and coworkers, the larger technology community also mourns his unexpected passing.
