Divorce

When they got married in 2004, actor Dhanush and director Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth—daughter of the legendary actor Rajinikanth—wowed viewers with their love tale. But in 2022, after eighteen years of marriage, they made the shocking announcement that they had separated, upsetting both their fan base and the industry.

Divorce filing

More than two years after announcing their separation, Dhanush and Aishwaryaa have officially filed for divorce. They recently filed for it in Chennai family court under Section 13 B, reportedly with mutual consent. They have been living apart for the previous two years, and their petition is going to be considered in court.

Choosing a divorce by consent shows that you are taking a mature approach to ending your relationship. Both Dhanush and Aishwaryaa have respectfully remained silent about the situation despite their split, with their managers claiming that they haven’t released any statements to the public about this development.

Previous Announcement

Their January 2022 separation was first announced, and this news of their divorce follows. They thanked each other for their 18 years of marriage and shared their story of growth, understanding, and parenting in their statement. They underlined that they decided to split apart as a pair in order to concentrate on getting to know themselves better.

Dhanush and Aishwaryaa have enthusiastically embraced parenthood during their marriage. They are the proud parents of two kids, Yatra and Linga, who were born in 2006 and 2010, respectively. Despite their personal struggles, they have persisted in putting their kids’ needs first, as seen by their joint attendance at their sons’ post-divorce school functions.
