It is said that after a furious dispute, Gaikwad pointed a gun at the Shiv Sena leader and fired several shots, gravely wounding him. The event took place in the senior inspector’s chamber at Ulhasnagar’s Hill Line police station.

The BJP MLA was taken into custody and charged with several offenses, including criminal conspiracy and attempt to murder, along with two other people.

 Having won three elections in a row, Gaikwad is a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, representing the Kalyan East seat. The complexity of the current scenario is increased by his political history, which has seen transitions from independent candidacy to BJP affiliations

Ganpat Gaikwad made a startling admission, saying, “Yes, I shot (him) myself,” with no remorse. What shall I do if my son is being assaulted in front of the cops in the police station?” This assertion exacerbates the already contentious political environment.
