Maharashtra Government to Hire 763 Teacher Job Vacancies for Government-Aided Schools

After more than six years of delay, the Maharashtra state government has finally begun the process of appointing teachers for 763 vacant positions in 196 government-aided schools. Following reservation policies and subject to the availability of candidates with the necessary interview and teaching skills, the recruitment process will follow a 1:10 ratio per seat. The final decision will be based on the interview and teaching abilities, subject qualifications, and reservation recommendations for the specific positions.

Educational associations and stakeholders have reacted positively to the announcement of teacher appointments. The Maharashtra School Principals Association’s spokesperson, Mahendra Ganpule, expressed satisfaction with the development while acknowledging the obstacles that had caused delays in the recruitment process. The Mumbai School Principals’ Association’s Pandurang Kengar expressed relief at the long-awaited approval, noting that these positions had been finalized as early as 2017.
