The idol should embody the divinity of a child: Arun Yogiraj

When questioned about his vision for the murti, Yogiraj expressed, “The idol should embody the divinity of a child, as it represents the incarnation of God. It is my aspiration that those who behold the statue feel its divine essence.

A Legacy of Artistry

Arun Yogiraj’s journey as a sculptor is not conventional, despite his familial ties to the art. Despite excelling in his studies and pursuing an MBA from Mysuru University in 2008, Yogiraj felt a calling to fulfill his grandfather’s prophecy. This prompted him to leave his corporate job and embrace sculpting as his full-time vocation since 2008.

A Heritage of Artistic Excellence

His family’s artistic legacy traces back to his grandfather, Basavana Shilpi, an esteemed Mysuru palace artist. Arun’s grandfather, renowned for his contributions to iconic structures such as the Gayatri Temple and the Bhuvaneshwari Temple, left an indelible mark on Mysuru’s artistic heritage. Arun’s father, Yogiraj Shilpi, also played a significant role in preserving and enriching this heritage.
