In Harda town, Madhya Pradesh, a large fire broke out in a firecracker factory, killing eleven people and injuring over 200 more. The incident happened on Magardha Road in the Bairagarh neighbourhood, and videos of the fire and explosions went viral on social media.

Quick Response and Rescue Activities in Harda

The incident was handled quickly by the local government and fire brigades, as well as help was quickly dispatched from Indore and Bhopal to put out the fire. There were worries about people stranded within and around the fireworks unit after the disaster, which happened on the outskirts of Harda town.

The Government Relief plans

Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Mohan Yadav declared that the injured would receive free medical care in addition to an ex-gratia payment of Rs 4 lakh for the relatives of the deceased. In addition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered the deceased’s family an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF).

Three people, including the owner of the factory, were taken into custody in relation to the incident under Sections 304, 308, 34 IPC, and Section 3 of the Explosives Act. On the scene, the police are still working to control the aftermath and clear the wreckage
